1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Kopiaste website (kopiastecyprus.com) or mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Kopiaste ("we", "us", "our"), operating kopiastecyprus.com.
2. Description of Services
Kopiaste is an online marketplace that connects travellers ("Guests") with local experience providers ("Hosts") in Cyprus. We facilitate the discovery, booking, and payment of experiences such as boat trips, wine tours, cooking classes, villa rentals, and other activities.
Kopiaste is a platform, not a service provider. The experiences are provided by independent Hosts, not by Kopiaste. We do not operate, own, or control any experience listed on our platform.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and make bookings
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
4. Bookings and Payments
4.1 Booking Process
- When you book an experience, you are entering into a direct agreement with the Host
- All prices are displayed in the selected currency and include applicable VAT
- Kopiaste charges a service fee (commission) which is included in the displayed price
- Bookings are subject to availability and Host acceptance
4.2 Payment
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc.
- Kopiaste does not store your credit card information
- Payment is collected at the time of booking unless otherwise stated
- All transactions are in the currency displayed at checkout
4.3 Cancellation and Refunds
- Free cancellation: Up to 24 hours before the scheduled experience
- Late cancellation: Less than 24 hours before - no refund unless the Host agrees otherwise
- Host cancellation: If a Host cancels, you will receive a full refund
- Weather-dependent experiences: If the Host cancels due to weather, a full refund or rescheduling will be offered
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days

5. Host Obligations
If you list experiences on Kopiaste as a Host, you agree to:
- Provide accurate descriptions, photos, and pricing for all listings
- Maintain valid licenses, insurance, and certifications required for your experience
- Honor confirmed bookings and provide the experience as described
- Communicate promptly with Guests about their bookings
- Maintain a minimum 4.0 average rating to remain on the platform
- Comply with all applicable Cyprus and EU laws and regulations
6. Service Fees and Host Payouts
- Kopiaste charges a commission of 20% on each completed booking
- The commission is deducted from the total booking amount before payout to the Host
- Host payouts are processed within 3-5 business days after the experience is completed
- Payouts are made to the Host's verified bank account or Stripe Connect account
7. Reviews and Content
- You may submit reviews for experiences you have completed
- Reviews must be honest, accurate, and not contain offensive, defamatory, or misleading content
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines
- You grant Kopiaste a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your reviews and submitted content
8. AI Concierge
Our AI Concierge is powered by Google Gemini and provides general information and recommendations about Cyprus experiences.
- AI responses are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
- AI conversations are not permanently stored by Kopiaste
- You should verify any information with the relevant Host before booking
9. Intellectual Property
- All content on kopiastecyprus.com (design, logos, text, software) is owned by or licensed to Kopiaste
- The Kopiaste name, logo, and brand are protected trademarks
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent
- Hosts retain ownership of their listing content (descriptions, photos) and grant Kopiaste a license to display it on our platform
10. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Bypass, circumvent, or attempt to avoid any payment mechanisms (e.g., booking directly to avoid fees)
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent bookings or reviews
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or Hosts
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the platform
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
11. Limitation of Liability
- Kopiaste acts as an intermediary and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or delivery of experiences provided by Hosts
- We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times, error-free, or free of viruses
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Kopiaste in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Cyprus law
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kopiaste, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
13. Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus
- Any disputes shall be resolved first through good-faith negotiation
- If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Limassol, Cyprus
- Before initiating court proceedings, you may submit a complaint to the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service
14. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

17. Payment Terms
- Payment processor: All payments are processed securely through Stripe, Inc. Kopiaste does not store your credit or debit card information.
- Booking confirmation: A booking is confirmed only upon successful payment authorization. If payment fails, the booking is not created.
- Currency: All prices are displayed and charged in Euro (€/EUR) unless otherwise indicated at checkout. For bookings in other currencies, the conversion rate is displayed before payment confirmation.
- Payment methods: We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, and Google Pay via Stripe.
- VAT: Prices include applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) as required by Cyprus law.
- Service fees: Kopiaste's service fee (commission) is included in the displayed booking price and is non-refundable except where required by law.
- Receipts: A booking confirmation and receipt are emailed to you upon successful payment.
18. Booking Confirmation
18.1 Instant Confirmation
For experiences with real-time availability (e.g., scheduled tours, boat trips with fixed departures), bookings are confirmed instantly upon successful payment. You will receive a confirmation email and the booking will appear in your account immediately.
18.2 Partner Approval (Custom Experiences)
For custom or on-demand experiences, the Host must approve your booking. Hosts are required to confirm or decline within 24 hours of your booking request. During this period, your payment is authorized but not charged.
- If the Host confirms, your payment is charged and the booking is finalized.
- If the Host declines or does not respond within 24 hours, the authorization is released and no charge is made.
- You may cancel a pending booking request at any time before Host confirmation at no charge.
19. Cancellation by User
You may cancel a confirmed booking subject to the following conditions:
- More than 48 hours before the experience: Free cancellation — full refund of the booking amount (excluding non-refundable service fees, where applicable).
- 24–48 hours before the experience: 50% refund of the booking amount.
- Less than 24 hours before the experience: No refund, except where required by EU consumer protection law.
- After the experience start time: No refund (see No-Show Policy, Section 21).

20. Cancellation by Partner
If a Host cancels a confirmed booking, the following applies:
- Full refund: You will receive a 100% refund of the booking amount to your original payment method.
- 10% credit: You will also receive a 10% credit voucher (based on the original booking value) for use on a future Kopiaste booking, as compensation for the inconvenience.
- Rescheduling: Where possible, we will offer you the option to reschedule the same experience with another Host or on a different date at no extra cost.
- Notification: We will notify you of the cancellation as soon as the Host informs us.
Hosts who repeatedly cancel confirmed bookings may be removed from the platform.
21. No-Show Policy
If you do not arrive for a booked experience ("no-show") without prior cancellation, the following applies:
- No refund: No-shows are not eligible for any refund.
- Credit voucher: At Kopiaste's discretion, a partial credit voucher (up to 30% of the booking value) may be offered for future use, depending on the Host's policy and the circumstances.
- Late arrival: If you arrive late and the experience has already started or ended, this is treated as a no-show unless the Host agrees otherwise.
- Grace period: A 15-minute grace period applies to scheduled experiences where feasible. Contact the Host directly if you are delayed.
22. Dispute Resolution
- Contact us first: If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact Kopiaste at info@kopiastecyprus.com within 7 days of the incident or the end of the experience.
- Mediation first: We will attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith mediation between you and the Host. Kopiaste acts as a neutral facilitator and will respond within 14 days of receiving your complaint.
- Escalation: If mediation does not resolve the issue within 30 days, either party may initiate court proceedings.
- Jurisdiction: Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Limassol, Republic of Cyprus.
- Consumer protection: Before initiating court proceedings, you may submit a complaint to the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service (www.consumer.gov.cy) or use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
- Alternative dispute resolution: Cyprus law provides for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) through approved ADR bodies. We will inform you of the relevant body if your dispute qualifies.
23. Partner Obligations
Hosts listing experiences on Kopiaste must:
- Provide the service as described: The experience delivered must match the description, photos, duration, and inclusions stated in the listing.
- Maintain insurance: Hosts must hold valid public liability insurance covering all activities offered, with minimum coverage as required by Cyprus law. Proof of insurance may be requested by Kopiaste.
- Comply with Cyprus tourism regulations: Hosts must comply with all applicable regulations of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism, including any licensing requirements for tour operators, boat operators, and accommodation providers.
- Safety standards: Hosts must maintain appropriate safety standards for their activities, including equipment inspections, qualified staff, and emergency procedures.
- Tax compliance: Hosts are responsible for declaring and paying all applicable taxes (income tax, VAT, tourism levy) on their earnings. Kopiaste may be required to report Host earnings to Cyprus tax authorities.
- Data protection: Hosts must handle Guest personal data in compliance with the GDPR and may only use it for the purpose of delivering the booked experience.
- Background checks: Kopiaste reserves the right to conduct background checks on Hosts and require proof of qualifications and certifications.
24. Limitation of Liability
- Platform, not provider: Kopiaste is an intermediary platform that connects Guests with Hosts. We are not the provider of any experience and are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or conduct of Hosts or their staff.
- Maximum liability: Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to your use of our platform shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific booking that gave rise to the claim.
- Indirect damages: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of enjoyment, or travel costs.
- Service availability: We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free platform availability. We are not liable for interruptions caused by maintenance, technical issues, or events beyond our control.
- Third-party services: We are not liable for the actions of third-party service providers (Stripe, Google, SendGrid) or any damages resulting from their services.
- Non-excludable liability: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Cyprus or EU law.
25. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.
- Where EU law applies (including consumer protection regulations, GDPR, and e-commerce directives), it takes precedence over conflicting national laws.
- The Cyprus implementation of EU directives, including the Cyprus E-Commerce Law (Law 92(I)/2004) and the Cyprus Consumer Protection Law (Law 106(I)/2017), applies to these Terms.
- Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Limassol, Republic of Cyprus, unless otherwise required by mandatory EU consumer protection law.
- EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of domicile where mandated by EU law.
